Outings to community events, such as Jazz in the Park and the local swimming pool, are also offered. Marian Manor has its own chapter of the Red Hat Society, a group of women who meet regularly for tea, conversation and occasional fundraisers.

Intergenerational programming opportunities are one of the great perks of life at Marian Manor since the Activities department and the on-site Child Day Care can collaborate. Regular activities for children and residents are scheduled weekly, but the opportunities for unplanned interactions are an everyday occurrence as the children and residents take walks outside or within the halls of the facility.

From the Easter bonnet parade to Trick-or-Treating, holidays often bring parades of costumed children through the halls. Residents are delighted to interact with the children and the kids love visiting with the residents and show them what they’ve been learning.

Upon admission each resident is interviewed about his or her hobbies, interests, likes and dislikes. Activities are planned with the goal of ensuring that each resident’s needs are met.
