The Vincentian Collaborative System operates four long-term care facilities in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. At each, we strive to show a special gift for caring – for people, for their values and traditions, for their families and concerns. Recently we have broadened our services by incorporating an out-patient rehabilitation center, two child-development centers, and the Vincentian Charitable Foundation. | ||||||

In 2008, the Vincentian Sisters of Charity merged with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth based in Nazareth, Kentucky. The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth were founded in 1812 by Mother Catherine Spalding. Their mission and charism also share roots with Saint Vincent de Paul and Saint Louise de Marillac. Since the Vincentian Sisters' numbers were decreasing, the merger ensured that the charism and mission of St. Vincent and St. Louise begun here in Western Pennsylvania in 1902 would continue to future generations. Now that the two congregations have become one, there are more than 700 Sisters ministering around the world. While our daily operations have not changed, the Vincentian Collaborative System is now a part of this broader, worldwide ministry.
